IJL 2017 is the leading exhibition for the jewellery industry in the UK and one of the top jewellery events in Europe as well as the world. This year’s event takes place 3rd to 5th September at the Olympia London and we’re more than looking forward to it.

Innovations & Initiatives

Diamonds are forever and never go out of style, but IJL is always looking to innovate and improve. Here are just a few recent additions to the exhibition that show how the event has grown from a weekend-long exhibition to a year-long support network for the jewellery industry:

Kickstart: In this initiative, no doubt inspired by crowdfunding platforms such as Kickstarter, 10 up-and-coming designers are selected by the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) and IJL. These ‘new kids on the block’ then have the opportunity to showcase their products at IJL 2017 on a group stand, as part of the prestigious Design Gallery.

Awards: IJL is keen to recognise and reward excellence, originality and creativity within the jewellery industry, especially through their esteemed Editors’ Choice Awards. But, it doesn’t stop there. Other awards include the Goldsmith’s Craft & Design Council Awards, the F. Hinds High Street by Design Competition and the Gem Empathy Award.

Bright Young Gems: BYGs are final year students or students who have graduated from colleges and universities in the past two years. They are selected by a panel of experts, providing five future stars of contemporary jewellery with a huge commercial platform.

#withyou: Finally, IJL recognises that their success relies on the success of their exhibitors. Therefore, the #withyou initiative was launched for IJL 2017, promising support for the industry and the IJL exhibitors all year around.
